Chapter 292 – Broken Bones

“Your Majesty, are you injured?!” Sima Qingsha heard multiple voices clamoring around him, all asking him questions, but he only held his hand to his abdomen, watching Luo Wei, who had been fighting desperately with him just moments ago, now lying motionless on the ground.

“Your Majesty!” Sun Li looked at the blood on the ground, noticing that Sima Qingsha was also injured. Luo Wei was wrapped in Sima Qingsha’s dragon robe so he couldn’t see his injury clearly. “Are you injured?” Sun Li asked several times, but seeing Sima Qingsha ignoring him, he raised his voice and pushed Sima Qingsha’s shoulder.

“Go check, see how he is,” Sima Qingsha said.

Sun Li ran to Luo Wei’s side, bent down, and lifted the wide robe embroidered with flying dragons. Upon seeing the wound, his face turned pale and he let out a shocked cry.

“What’s wrong with him?” Sima Qingsha couldn’t quite remember what he had done to Luo Wei just now.

“Your… Your Majesty,” Sun Li pointed at Luo Wei, unable to speak.

Sima Qingsha endured the pain and walked up, pushing Sun Li aside. When he looked at Luo Wei again, he was also stunned.

Luo Wei’s eyes were tightly closed, his face turning gray, and blood flowed on the white jade bricks as the wide robe was opened, revealing the extent of his injuries.

Physician Chu quickly ran up to the terrace, and did not bother to salute Sima Qingsha. He took a few steps to Luo Wei’s side and immediately saw that Luo Wei’s left leg was unnaturally bent, with a stark white piece of bone protruding through the flesh and skin. Sima Qingsha had actually broken Luo Wei’s left leg. The physician hesitated, afraid to touch Luo Wei.

“Yun… Yunqi!” Sima Qingsha snapped out of his trance, rushing to Luo Wei’s side and reaching out to check his breath. Feeling the faint breath, Sima Qingsha shouted at the physician, “What are you still standing there for?! Come and see to him!”

The physician gritted his teeth, untied his belt, and quickly tied Luo Wei’s leg wound tightly. Dealing with the bone could wait; stopping the bleeding was the priority.

“Go and call all the physicians!” In his panic, Sima Qingsha even forgot to address himself as “We.”

“Your Majesty, he needs to go inside,” the physician urged urgently, “He shouldn’t be left out here in the rain.”

Sima Qingsha picked up Luo Wei and hurried into the house.

Sun Li stared at the blood on the ground, dazed. It wasn’t just him; no one present could come to their senses.

“Master Sun!” The physician shouted at Sun Li. “Is there time to be stunned at a time like this?”

Sun Li followed behind the court physician in a daze. Was all the effort to get this person just for this kind of interaction?

“Come and see him!” Sima Qingsha gently placed Luo Wei on the bed, shouting at the physician.

“Your Majesty, are you also injured?” Sun Li asked Sima Qingsha again.

“No!” Sima Qingsha replied irritably, “Didn’t the physicians report yet? Why haven’t they come yet?!”

A group of physicians hurriedly arrived.

“Quick, go and see him!” Sima Qingsha couldn’t wait for these physicians to bow to him; he pointed to the bed.

The area around Luo Wei’s bed was tightly surrounded by physicians.

Sima Qingsha slumped into a chair, the scene before him becoming somewhat blurry. He loosened his grip slightly, feeling the pain in his abdomen returning.

Standing beside Sima Qingsha, Sun Li finally noticed that his Majesty was bleeding from his abdomen. “Your Majesty is injured too!” Sun Li shouted. How could it be acceptable for the Dragon’s body to be harmed?!

Some physicians heard Sun Li’s shout and hurried over.

“Look at Luo Wei!” Sima Qingsha ordered.

Several physicians quickly turned back to tend to Luo Wei.

Sima Qingsha raised his hand to examine the blood on it, unsure if it was his or Luo Wei’s.

Sun Li was almost frantic, shouting at the physicians, “One of you, come and check His Majesty’s wound!”

Finally, a physician specializing in external injuries ran over.

“How is Luo Wei?” Sima Qingsha didn’t even look at the physician cleaning his wound; he asked the court physician by the bedside.

Imperial Physician Chu checked Luo Wei’s intermittent pulse, hesitating. Did he need to tell His Majesty that Luo Wei might not survive this? With such heart and lung injuries, if he wakes up, he might die from the pain alone.

“How is he?!” Sima Qingsha shouted. The silence of the physicians at this moment only made him more anxious.

Just as the physician was cleaning the blood clots from Sima Qingsha’s wound, Sima Qingsha’s shout caused blood to flow from the deep hole in his abdomen again. The physician hurriedly pressed down on Sima Qingsha and said, “Your Majesty, please calm down!”

“How is Luo Wei?!” Sima Qingsha ignored the physician and stared at the court physician.

“Not good,” the court physician said in three words.

“If something happens to him, none of you will live!” Sima Qingsha tried to stand up, but the pain from his abdominal wound made him fall back into the chair. However, he still managed to utter those harsh words.

The physicians dared not utter a word, and their movements became even faster. They were all healers, knowing that if Luo Wei was to survive, they could not waste a moment.

The physician treating Sima Qingsha’s wound looked at it and clicked his tongue. The wound was not light; it almost pierced the internal organs.

Sun Li also saw Sima Qingsha’s wound. Luo Wei had stabbed a deep hole into his Majesty’s belly. He didn’t show any mercy at all. Sun Li felt lucky that Luo Wei’s strength was limited; otherwise, he couldn’t believe that his Majesty would still be able to shout like this.

After dark, the rain in He Fangcheng turned into a downpour.

In the deep palace of the Guanshan Tower, the lights were on, and the physicians of the imperial hospital all gathered here. Medicinal soup was continuously brought in by eunuchs into this bedroom, while bloodwater was occasionally brought out and poured away.

The people in the palace only knew that something had happened at the Guanshan Tower again, but they had no way of finding out what exactly had happened.

“Your Majesty,” Sun Li held the boiled medicinal soup and handed it to Sima Qingsha.

Sima Qingsha’s gaze had never left the bed. He didn’t even glance at the medicinal soup handed to him by Sun Li.

“Your Majesty, you’re also injured,” Sun Li could only advise in a low voice, “You should drink the medicine first. The prince has the physicians looking after him. Nothing will happen.”

“I didn’t mean to,” Sima Qingsha said to Sun Li at this moment, “I didn’t want to hurt him.”

Sun Li didn’t know what else to say. Whether intentional or unintentional, Luo Wei’s thigh bone was forcibly broken. “You also need to recover before you can accompany the prince,” Sun Li tried to coax, “Otherwise, if something happens to you, who will protect the prince?” He whispered to Sima Qingsha, “He hurt you.”

Sima Qingsha took the medicine bowl from Sun Li and drank it all at once. The crime of injuring the king was punishable by death. Sun Li was right. If something happened to him, Luo Wei would have no one to protect him.
